Occupational Therapist (Lvl 1-2) - Paediatrics - Temp FT

Location: SWSLHD District Wide Service
Employment Type: Temporary Full Time, 38 hours per week up to June 2026
Position Classification: Occupational Therapist Level 1-2
Remuneration: $1,407.22 - $2,007.58 per week

Employer: NSW Health – South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD). This is a paediatric Occupational Therapy role within the Primary and Community Health team, temporary until June 2026. New graduate occupational therapists are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children aged 0–12 years with developmental needs.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (e.g., speech pathologists, physiotherapists, psychologists, dietitians, social workers, educators).
  • Deliver evidence-based, family-centred therapy services in line with best practice guidelines.
  • Develop and implement individualised therapy plans and monitor progress.
  • Engage in health promotion and parent/caregiver education.
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy with registration with AHPRA.
  • Clinical experience in paediatrics and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge and commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
  • Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). NSW C class license required within three months of appointment if licensed elsewhere.
What You'll Be Doing

Provide a high-quality occupational therapy service to clients and families to support optimal health outcomes within a multidisciplinary setting, including entry, assessment, treatment planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge processes. Undertake administrative tasks necessary to support service delivery.
