About the role

Mater Occupational Therapy department is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join the team on a permanent part-time basis, working 15 hours per week at our South Brisbane campus in the Day Therapy Unit.

The Occupational Therapy department at Mater Health provides public and private health services across various clinical specialties, including general medical, surgical, orthopaedics, neurosciences, cancer care, rehabilitation, lymphoedema, psychosocial/mental health, neonatology, and paediatrics. The team comprises Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants delivering services in inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth settings.

Salary range: $ $58.59 per hour plus 12% superannuation

What you'll be doing

  • Undertake routine clinical practice within established protocols to achieve patient-centered outcomes
  • Apply clinical judgment to more complex cases under supervision
  • Contribute to developing clinical practices, procedures, and protocols within multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in quality and service improvement activities to enhance clinical services and patient outcomes
  • Liaise with patients, families, carers, and external agencies to facilitate patient-centered care
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance clinical practice and expertise

About you

  • Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy
  • Eligible for registration with AHPRA
  • Eligible to receive a Medicare provider number
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment and intervention within a day therapy rehabilitation setting
  • Ability to apply occupational therapy principles in a day therapy rehabilitation environment
