The Construction Manager – Civil will be responsible for overseeing all civil works associated with telecommunications infrastructure projects, including rip and plough utilising large dozers, trenching and rock breaking, pit and pipe installation, directional drilling, and reinstatement. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality in remote and regulated environments.

This is aFIFO position operating on a 2:1 roster, offering a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to contribute to essential connectivity infrastructure across Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end delivery of telecommunications infrastructure projects.

Forecast programming and drive onsite productivity.

Oversee rip and plough, trenching, conduit installation, pit and pipe works, directional drilling, and site reinstatement.

Ensure strict compliance with mine site safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company standards.

Lead and mentor site supervisors, civil crews, and subcontractors.

Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and utility providers to ensure efficient project execution.

Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor progress and compliance.

Resolve on-site issues and implement corrective actions as required.

Prepare and submit progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Selection Criteria

Demonstrated experience managing civil construction projects in the telecommunications infrastructure sector.

Strong understanding of mine site operations, safety protocols, and access requirements.

Experience working with Tier 1 mining companies and their infrastructure standards.

Proven leadership and team management skills in remote or high-risk environments.

Excellent knowledge of civil construction methodologies and safety regulations.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans, network designs, and technical specifications.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.

Familiarity with ISO standards and HSEQ systems.

Qualifications and Tickets

Current C Class Driver's Licence (or higher).

Mine site inductions (e.g., BHP, Rio Tinto, FMG) – highly regarded.

Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline - desirable.
