AUMS, part of the Perenti group, is a specialist underground contract mining services business operating across Africa. This key position at Mana Complex, Burkina Faso, offers a 6 weeks on, 3 weeks off roster, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your career alongside experienced underground mining professionals in a safe, dynamic, and outcome-focused environment. The successful candidate will be capable of leading and training national supervisors to a high level of proficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of shift workers and equipment at an underground mine site.
  • Ensure all workers on shift are trained and competent to perform their duties safely and productively.
  • Train and mentor national supervisors and workforce to high standards.
  • Conduct mining operations safely, promptly reporting safety issues to the Underground Manager.
  • Meet operational targets.
  • Manage, control, and supervise the working areas in compliance with relevant Acts and Regulations.
  • Maintain duty of care towards employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Organize crews, rosters, and daily site operations.
  • Conduct daily work planning and toolbox meetings.
  • Submit incident reports to the Site Manager.
  • Perform crew training, assessments, and review employee development, mentoring, and performance.
Skills, Experience & Attributes :
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Underground Shift Supervisor.
  • Current Underground Shift Supervisor Ticket.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

A full pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and site-specific clearances, is required.
