About the opportunity
The Machine Operator reports to the Factory Manager and is part of the manufacturing team. The key focus of this role is to ensure the efficient operation of the machinery used in the production process to shape, cut and form steel into roof trusses, joists, and wall frames. More specifically, you will:

1. Loading of new coils on the de-coiler when required
2. Ensuring finished product is loaded onto trolleys in a methodical order
3. Resets, adjusts, and corrects machine set up to reduce thickness and eliminate product defects.
4. Ensuring Product produced is of high quality and within required qualification
5. Ensure Roll form machine and area is kept tidy
6. Ensure daily product inspections are completed
7. Ensure daily audits (Calibration checks) are completed
8. Monitor and report any abnormal machine operation and/or maintenance
9. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and assist maintenance as required
10. Maintenance reports are completed in a timely manner to avoid breakdowns
11. Complete daily production sheets
12. Monitor machine cycles and operation to ensure fabricated products conform to specifications

About you

3. Physically fit to perform manual handling tasks
4. Demonstrated experience in roll forming (desirable)
5. Familiarity with the steel framing industry (desirable)
6. Good mechanical aptitude
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks
8. Ability to work independently, as well as contribute as a team member
9. Available to work Monday – Friday and occasional Saturdays from 5:00am - 1:30pm
