As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Fusion Technology, you play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to improving, developing, and providing reliable, cutting-edge technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable.

Job responsibilities

  1. Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or analyze technical problems.
  2. Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  3. Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  4. Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  5. Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.
  6. Foster a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  1. Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  2. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  3. Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  4. Expertise in Java application development using Java 17 or higher, Spring Boot, NoSQL databases like Cassandra, relational databases (Postgres, Oracle, Sybase, or MSSQL Server), Kafka.
  5. Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  6. Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  7. Proven skills in software applications and technical processes within disciplines like cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile development.
  8. Practical experience with cloud-native technologies.
