Lead Engineering Excellence in a Growth City

Public Sector People is partnering with Blacktown City Council to recruit an experienced and qualified Senior Coordinator Engineering Design to lead the delivery of high-quality stormwater and civil design services that enhance the liveability, safety, and sustainability of the growing city. This role reports to the Manager Asset Design and leads the S7.11 Stormwater Design team in planning, design, and coordination of major infrastructure projects, with a focus on the North West Growth Area.

Salary: Band 3 Level 4 – TRP commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading a high-performing engineering design team, ensuring all projects meet Council's quality, budget, and time requirements
  • Overseeing the preparation and authorisation of civil stormwater designs in line with professional standards and legislative obligations
  • Managing the S7.11 design program budget, including forecasting and reporting
  • Preparing strategic plans, technical reports, and policy documents to guide infrastructure outcomes
  • Engaging and collaborating with developers, consultants, community stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver integrated solutions
Essential Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering with Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and NER registration
  • Minimum 8 years' post-qualification experience in stormwater design and cost estimation
  • High-level proficiency in AutoCAD, 12D, DRAINS, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS, TUFLOW, and MUSIC
  • Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Current Class C driver's licence
