Overview

Advanced Trainees/Senior Registrars are based at the Adelaide Sexual Health Centre and will assess, diagnose and manage clients appropriately in accordance with good patient care and control program objectives.

You'll contribute to the provision of high standard clinical service, as well as undertake teaching / training at undergraduate, postgraduate and community levels. In addition, you'll actively participate in research and development and contribute to the enhancement of existing epidemiological programs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Registered with AHPRA in Australia as a medical practitioner.
  • Hold, or be progressing towards, a postgraduate qualification relevant to Sexual Health or Public Health.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more relevant areas with exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills; able to maintain empathy, integrity and confidentiality with sensitive or personal issues and diverse populations.
  • Experience in teaching and research is valued; experience in quality improvement activities is essential.
  • Proficient in self-management and work organisation; demonstrate clinical competency in medical practice and commitment to a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Medical registration and qualifications: MBBS or equivalent, with General Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia. Current or planned training with the Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine is preferable.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills; genuine empathy for patients and families; ability to work collaboratively within a team or independently.
  • Clinical competence and problem solving: ward-based procedures, sound clinical judgement, and ability to make informed decisions under pressure while maintaining patient care standards.
  • Commitment to excellence and adaptability: proactive in quality improvement, understanding of contemporary medical practices, with a positive response to change and knowledge of WHS principles.
