The Position:
We are seeking dedicated Residential Disability Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will primarily work in Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, providing high-quality residential support. This position will require availability for active nights with a high needs' female client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support with hygiene and personal care, including showering, dressing, bowel care, and toileting.
- Assist with manual handling and the use of mobility equipment such as wheelchairs and hoists, ensuring client comfort and safety.
- Support medication compliance, which may include the dispensation of prescription medication.
- Perform light domestic duties, including meal preparation, laundry, and cleaning.
- Provide transportation and accompany participants to community activities.
- Offer social and mental health support.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all activities and incidents.
- Provide day-to-day support for participants living in SIL arrangements, helping to improve their independence and achieve individual goals.
- Follow Positive Behavioral Support plans and support clients with complex challenging behaviors.
- Work collaboratively within a team environment.
Working Hours:
We provide 24/7 support to our clients, so shifts may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, as well as sleepovers or active night shifts.
Essential Skills and Experience Required:
- Demonstrated experience working as a Disability Support Worker in a SIL environment
- Previous experience in Disability Support or Aged Care.
- Current First Aid Certificate with CPR.
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance (for Community Access).
- Fully COVID-19 vaccinated.
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Qualifications in Disability, Aged Care, Community, or Allied Health are advantageous.
