About the Centre

Sparkways Early Learning Whittlesea is a welcoming and community-minded childcare Centre, offering a safe and nurturing environment for children to explore, learn, and grow.

  • The role

This is a part-time, permanent position, offering 22.5 hours per week.

The rostered working days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 8:15 am to 3:45 pm.In 2026, the position will extend to 4 days per week, 30 hours per week – Monday to Thursday – 8:15 am to 3:45 pm.The position is covered under VECTEA terms and conditions, including back pay of 2026 increases after VECTEA 2025 is finalised.Paid time off is provided during term breaks on a pro-rata basis.Discounted childcare available at the co-located Whittlesea Childcare Centre.Please note: Provisionally registered teachers will not be considered for this position.

Who we are looking for

  • Minimum two years of teaching experience as an Early Childhood Teacher.
  • Full VIT registration.
  • Practical expertise in including children with additional needs, and in working with children and families with trauma backgrounds.
  • Skills to role model excellence in teaching—scaffolding and documenting children's learning in play-based, child-led pedagogy.
  • Able to contribute to a child-centered, friendly team.
  • Known for being positive and energetic.
  • Interested in joining a community of passionate and like-minded ECEC professionals.
  • Seeking career progression opportunities while working close to the local community.
