What You'll Do

We are seeking a dedicated Culinary Cook to join our hospitality team. In this role, you will be instrumental in preparing nutritious and delicious meals that cater to the diverse needs of our residents. Your culinary creations will not only satisfy appetites but also contribute to the overall well-being and happiness of those in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Preparation: Craft a variety of meals, considering dietary requirements and preferences, to provide residents with enjoyable dining experiences.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure the kitchen and all equipment are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly manner, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in ordering supplies and managing stock levels to guarantee the availability of fresh ingredients.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records related to meal counts, inventory, and kitchen operations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Hospitality Team Leader and other staff to deliver cohesive and high-quality services.
  • Compliance: Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
  • Resident Satisfaction: Engage with residents to accommodate preferences and enhance dining experiences.
Shift Coverage
  • Cook 1: Mon-Wed, 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM
  • Cook 2: Mon-Fri, 6 AM - 1 PM
About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Culinary Expertise: Demonstrated experience in commercial cooking, with a solid understanding of food hygiene practices and kitchen safety protocols.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to food preparation and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to interact effectively with residents, staff, and suppliers, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to embrace change and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience and demonstrated knowledge of commercial food preparation as a cook or chef in a similar setting is highly desirable.
  • One year's experience as a commercial cook, working in a hygiene-controlled environment.
  • Current National Police Certificate, NDIS Worker Screening Check - or the ability to obtain.
