Queensland Rail's Legal, Right to Information and Privacy (LRP) Team is excited to announce that we are looking for a Legal Counsel (2+PQE) who is eager to grow their career and make a significant impact within our organisation. This role offers the chance to work closely with senior legal staff on a variety of legal, right to information and privacy matters, providing a unique opportunity for professional development and advancement.
As a Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal, cost-effective advice in relation to Queensland Rail's activities to ensure that they are conducted within the limits prescribed by law and that Queensland Rail's rights are fully protected. Your work will directly influence the trajectory of Queensland Rail's operations and strategies, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to projects that shape the future of Queensland's transportation infrastructure. This role offers the chance to immerse yourself in a diverse array of legal issues, from corporate governance and commercial law to regulatory compliance, employment, right to information, privacy and competition matters. This is a permanent, full-time position. Salary will be negotiated based on experience.

Pre-Employment Qualification: To be considered for this position, you must hold a current Practising Certificate in Queensland (or be able to obtain one) and be required to provide a certified colour copy of your legal qualification before an offer can be extended.

If you reside outside of Queensland, please note that this role requires relocation to Brisbane by your start date, as full-time remote work or fly-in/fly-out arrangements are not supported.
