As a successful Energy Resource Manager, your success will be measured by:

Data Center Operations
  • Primary focus on managing IT allocation at the campus/metro level by collaborating with key stakeholders and ensuring demands are properly allocated across the IT infrastructure.
  • Familiarize with data center design, manage IT resources by performing virtual failure analysis, and develop a master allocation plan to drive operationalization of customer capacity.
  • Ensure compliance with data center business units and service-level policies.
  • Engage with appropriate teams and resources to execute tasks or projects.
  • Manage programs associated with the area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate conscientiousness on cost, adhering to budget requirements, and contributing to staying within budget.
  • Follow and adhere to safety and security policies and procedures, reporting any issues immediately.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) processes as appropriate.
  • Raise risks to IT capacity allocation and planning, identify power stranding, and contractual inconsistencies (leased spaces).
  • Ensure critical environment information is properly entered and maintained.
  • Lead programs and projects through leadership forums, aligning scope, schedule, and cost with OKRs.
Service Delivery
  • Manage assigned projects or programs to meet service delivery objectives and escalate obstacles to stakeholders.
  • Recognize potential customer impact of events, communicate potential impact, and plan accordingly.
  • Proactively review schedules, avoid conflicts, and manage expectations with customers, offering alternatives when defining solutions.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure expectations are understood, documented, and met.
Data Center Work Environment
  • Share best practices and assist others in learning roles, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across groups to gain insights and develop solutions.
  • Provide mentorship across data centers for specific expertise.
  • Seek training opportunities to meet business interests and career goals.
  • Suggest ways to reduce risk during maintenance and improve implementation based on understanding.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by adopting best practices and collaborating effectively.
Ownership
  • Hold self-accountable for service quality, customer experience, and compliance with safety, security, and availability standards.
  • Support escalation of issues to the appropriate owner.
Other
  • Embodies Microsoft's culture and values.
Qualifications (Text Only)

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years supporting IT equipment or related technology, or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments.
  • Or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in critical environment infrastructure (e.g., UPS, PDUs, Generators, AHU/CFM), with ability to interpret electrical diagrams and work with IT infrastructure modifications.
  • 1+ years in IT critical space and understanding of IT allocation metrics.

Background Check Requirements:

  • Ability to meet security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check, citizenship verification, and possibly enhanced background checks through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
