The Company
Our client is a Canadian commercial aerospace giant offering aircraft manufacturing, engineering, aftermarket modifications, parts manufacturing, and flight training services for over 100 years. They have approximately 1,200 employees across Canada and in markets worldwide.
They currently supply aircraft and avionic engineering services to major Australian flight providers, including Qantas and Jetstar.
Role in brief
The Regional Support Office Manager will oversee the Aftermarket team in our Sydney office and remotely across Oceania / APAC. The manager will handle daily operations and provide high-level support to regional customers, serving as a point of escalation.
The successful candidate must be able to travel to Canada for an initial 2-3 months training period and ongoing training several weeks per year.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to a cross-functional organization.
- Develop financial and operational objectives for the region.
- Manage resources to meet objectives.
- Guide and evaluate staff performance through goal setting and coaching.
- Coordinate with Local Regulatory Authorities.
- Serve as the in-region management focal point for Aftermarket activities.
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to uphold company values.
- Develop strategic support plans for regional customers.
- Problem-solve with local teams for real-time solutions.
- Manage office-related business functions like Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Governance.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 7-10 years in the Aviation/Aerospace industry with at least 2 years managing cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects.
- Knowledge of product types like DHC 1-8, Aerial Fire Fighter.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to resolve complex cross-functional issues.
- Decisiveness in real-time situations.
- Customer-centric mindset, focused on exceeding expectations.
Salary and Work Rights
Salary range of $180K - $190K + Super, depending on experience and qualifications.
