Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney's western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.

Are you passionate about fostering clinical excellence and supporting the professional growth of healthcare staff? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join our Aged Care team on the Geriatric Rehabilitation ward. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the development of clinical staff while contributing to the delivery of high-quality care for older adults.

As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for promoting evidence-based best practice through the coordination and facilitation of clinical education and staff development initiatives. You will work closely with a diverse team of health professionals, identifying learning needs and designing, delivering, and evaluating targeted education programs that enhance clinical capability and confidence at the ward or unit level.

While your primary focus will be on education and development, you may also provide direct clinical care in emergency situations, using these opportunities to model and reinforce best practice for staff. Your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in creating a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence.

What You Will Bring To The Role

• Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
• Relevant clinical/education post registration qualification
• Recent extensive clinical experience deemed appropriate by the selection panel
• Demonstrated ability to identify learning needs and to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate education.
• Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including the ability to work in a consultative manner.
• Demonstrated previous experience in clinical teaching, mentoring and preceptorship.
• Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
• Commitment to working with NMUM to establish and maintain a learning environment that values and encourages learning and reflective practice.
