Victoria Park State School fosters a culture of student achievement. Our high expectations of our students are reflected in our students' academic achievements and the high regard the wider community has for our school. A range of cultural experiences and opportunities are offered to students, and we celebrate a strong reputation in school sport. Victoria Park is renowned for its innovative use of technology, being the first Mackay state primary school to introduce a one-to-one laptop program. Students across the school regularly access iPads, with Year 5 and 6 teachers using laptop computers in the delivery of their curriculum.
As one of Mackay's larger primary schools, Victoria Park State School facilitates opportunities for career development through a pipeline program that captures beginning teachers right through to prospective school principals. Our staff benefit from access to coaches for behaviour, curriculum and pedagogy and enjoy the support of a designated diverse learning teacher for every year level in addition to an extensive non-teaching team. These supports similarly provide internal opportunities for leadership development. In providing for our team, we pride ourselves on fostering a culture in which the wellbeing of our team is prioritised.
