Contributing to providing a safe environment for patients, staff and Visiting Medical Practitioners, your role will involve, but is not limited to:

• Transport of patients throughout hospital, network and to other medical facilities within the metro area.
• Assess patient for appropriate method of transfer either by wheelchair or stretcher.
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of patient flow within the hospital.
• Maintain patient and materials manual handling competency.
• Check and replace gas and oxygen cylinders as needed in transport vehicle.
• Remove rubbish and soiled linen.
• Clean transport vehicle and equipment and complete all vehicle checks as required.
• Carry out other duties as directed by the Manager.

The successful candidate will be a motivated individual and bring a client-first attitude with a desire to assist our staff and patients in obtaining the best possible outcomes.

• Certificate III in Health Services /Aged Care or equivalent desirable
• Flexibility to work across a Monday to Friday roster is essential for this role.
• Knowledge in Manual Handling, Occupational Safety and Health practices, Infection Control and Housekeeping Protocols, and Usage of cleaning equipment
• Ability to perform a physically demanding role.
• Self-motivated and able to work effectively following directions.

Candidates with relevant experience gained within the health industry will be highly regarded for this role.

Base Hourly Rates in accordance with Enterprise Agreement + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
