Job Summary

As Senior Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineer, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's control systems aspects.

You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of control systems components and processes.

Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure unique and complex requirements of a project's control systems aspects are met.

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

Major Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts independent onControl Systems work requiring judgment in theevaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of onControl Systems engineeringtechniques, procedures and criteria on a medium size project or assignment insupport of a global business unit
• Leads the design, development, modification and evaluation of mechanical components andprocesses utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), designstandards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
• Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to uppermanagement
• Develops conceptual designs for Control Systems engineering projects or projects havingspecialized or unique requirements
• Supports preparation of estimates, staffing needs and schedules
• Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan inaccordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and supportsimplementation and assists with performance reporting
• Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performancedata
• Coordinates with client representatives, as directed, to obtain their approval ofonControl Systems aspects of the work
• Conducts or leads special studies of new Control Systems engineering methods, materialsand techniques
• Mentors Control Systems engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training for theirprofessional development . Provides input to and participates in special technical educational and trainingprograms as directed

Education And Experience Requirements

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Expertise in control system and instrumentation design and integration in Mining and Metals industry,
• Functional safety certification,
• RPEQ certification
• Expertise in OT (Operational Technology) Cyber Security,
• Expertise (including certification e.g. IECEx, ANZEx or AS/NZS in Hazardous Areas
• Clear communication skills and collaborative attitude
• Accountable and problem solver
• Mentoring and coaching other engineers and designers
