Bayside House is a boutique backpacker hostel in St Kilda, just minutes from Melbourne's cafés, nightlife, and beach. We provide clean, safe, and social accommodation and pride ourselves on delivering an excellent guest experience while keeping operations smooth and efficient.
Role Overview
We are looking for a versatile Housekeeping & Admin Team Member to join our team. This role is split between hands-on housekeeping (ensuring rooms and facilities are clean and welcoming) and administrative tasks (reception, bookings, guest communication, and general hostel operations).
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organised, and has a friendly personality to interact with guests.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping
Clean and prepare rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to a high standard.
Change bed linen, rotate laundry, and maintain hostel supplies.
Report maintenance issues and ensure spaces are safe and tidy.
Admin & Reception
Manage bookings, check-ins/outs, and payments using Cloudbeds (training provided).
Respond to guest inquiries via email, phone, and booking platforms (OTAs).
Keep records organised and assist with basic reporting tasks.
Support hostel events, partnerships, and guest engagement.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in housekeeping/cleaning and/or hospitality admin preferred.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Comfortable using computers and booking systems (Cloudbeds training provided).
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to cover weekends, evenings, or public holidays when needed.
