Overview

Allied Health Professional Lead Practitioner (CYMHS) – Northwest Tasmania. Permanent, full-time position within the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in Tasmania. This Lead Practitioner provides clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team, delivering developmentally appropriate treatment for young people and their families, under CYMHS reform initiatives.

The role

The Allied Health Professional - Lead Practitioner works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-standard clinical care within a designated program or region or statewide stream. The Lead Practitioner will:

  • Ensure service delivery to children and young people and their families is in accordance with evidenced-based practice, person-centred, trauma-informed care, and meets the requirements of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, legislative requirements, agency policy, and relevant professional competencies.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the program area and related change management processes through implementation of the model of care, operational service model and clinical governance requirements.
You will
  • Be part of a dynamic, well-supported team delivering high-quality mental health services to young people and their families/carers.
  • Provide clinical services through complex case management, assessment, and individual therapies, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and consultant psychiatrists to develop new youth mental health services in Tasmania.
  • Lead and mentor clinicians within the multidisciplinary team, providing support and consultation as required.
  • Deliver comprehensive, developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed biopsychosocial mental health assessments and therapies, including evidence-based psychological, creative and other therapies.
  • Provide clinical leadership within a designated program area, region, or statewide stream.
Location and team

One allied health position in the Northwest. Office is based in Devonport. The Northwest Coast includes diverse communities with access to beaches and recreational activities. Relocation support and visa assistance may be available for eligible applicants.

Benefits and salary

Salary: $123,717 to $138,296 per annum, with 11.5% superannuation on top. Salary ranges align with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022. Allowances and benefits include professional development allowances and travel/relocation assistance for eligible appointees. Fitness Passport and other leave entitlements are available.

Eligibility

Essential criteria include:

  • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program and registration with the relevant National Board, or full membership/eligibility with the relevant professional association for self-regulated allied health professions.
  • Current Working with Children Registration.
