About the Role

Join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team to support 2 individuals with disabilities living in shared housing in Miranda. They enjoy watching and catching trains and public transport, going to the library, and attending church on Sundays.

The successful candidate must be experienced and confident working with high behaviours of concern and behaviour support plans. The role offers a permanent part-time roster of 34 hours per fortnight:

  • Week 1: Mon & Tue 6-10am, Wed 2-9pm, Sat 9am – 2pm
  • Week 2: Wed 10am – 3pm, Thu 6-10am, Sat 9am – 2pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues
  • Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with people with disabilities
  • Experience working with behaviours of concern
  • Experience with high medical needs
  • Confidence in driving a wheelchair van
  • Manual Handling and Hoisting experience
  • Unrestricted Australian driver's license
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates

Successful candidates will be required to pass probity checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtaining an NDIS Clearance.
