The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SmallWorld/Magik Developer to join a major utilities provider on a critical contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-impact projects, including key regulatory changes and the development of innovative systems.

You'll be instrumental in developing and enhancing systems that support vital infrastructure. Your work will directly contribute to projects that address public lighting regulations and a cutting-edge gas leakage monitoring system.

This is a fast-paced environment where your expertise will be highly valued. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and deliver tangible results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain applications using SmallWorld GIS and the Magik programming language.

  • Work on systems related to regulatory changes for public lighting, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

  • Contribute to the development of a new gas leakage monitoring system, integrating it with existing GIS platforms.

  • Collaborate with a variety of technical and business stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver robust solutions.

  • Provide technical expertise and support for GIS-related projects within the utilities sector.

About You

You are a seasoned developer with a strong background in GIS and the utilities industry. You have a deep understanding of the SmallWorld platform and are highly proficient in Magik.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a SmallWorld/Magik Developer.

  • Extensive knowledge of the SmallWorld GIS platform.

  • Strong programming skills in the Magik language.

  • Previous experience working within the utilities sector (electricity or gas) is highly desirable.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
