Rasmussen State School is a vibrant and inclusive school located in Townsville, catering to approximately 350 students from Prep to Year 6. With 63% of the student population identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, the school embraces its strong culture heritage and fosters a deep sense of community. Many of the students come from multigenerational families who have maintained long-standing connections with the school. Guided by the motto 'I belong, We belong, All belong,' Rasmussen promotes a welcoming and supportive environment for all families. The school is known for its positive culture that encourages learning, respect and a strong sense of belonging.
Rasmussen State School is a part of the Department of Education's Partnership Initiative. They receive prioritised support and resourcing and act as champions for the communities they serve. Through holistic whole-of-government partnerships and collaborative community approaches, the school will be supported to make sure that children and students in the community have strong foundations and clear pathways for future success.
