Overview

This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent, Fixed Term, and Casual appointments at various hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Position Profile

WACHS South-West is looking for clinical pharmacists to join the Bunbury team. These roles promote safe, rational and cost-effective drug therapy by providing clinical pharmacy services for hospital patients throughout the South West region. This includes, but is not limited to, medication reconciliation for admitted hospital patients, monitoring the patient's total medication profile, dispensing medications to patients, providing drug information to nursing and medical staff, and making independent decisions on therapeutic strategies to optimize patient care.

Practice Standards

Your practice as a Pharmacist will align to the Pharmacy Board of Australia Registration Standards, the Pharmacy Board of Australia Codes and Guidelines including the Pharmacy Code of Conduct for Registered Health Practitioners and WACHS policies and guidelines.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

WA Health policies require applicants to undertake a criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. As well as undertaking a criminal record screening and integrity checking, you may also be required to undertake a working with children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employment health assessment. Pre-Employment Health Assessment

Please note this recruitment process requires completion of satisfactory Pre-Employment Health Assessment (PEHA). Any offer of employment with WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is conditional on satisfactory PEHA to ensure you are able to perform the inherent requirements of the position. An unsatisfactory PEHA will result in the offer of employment being withdrawn. Please see the attached WACHS PEHA Policy for further information.

Pool and Future Vacancies

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. If the successful applicant declines or vacates the advertised vacancy, the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the date the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/09/2026.

Parental Leave

This recruitment process includes some Fixed Term opportunities while the substantive occupant is on Parental Leave.
