Overview

Youth Support Worker New South Wales - Christmas Casual Positions - Located in Western Sydney. Kirinari Community Services is seeking Youth Support Workers to provide individualised support for children and young people residing in Kirinari OOHC homes during the upcoming Christmas period (December 2025 to February 2026). Casual hours are available in Western Sydney NSW for entry level or experienced Youth Support Workers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct person-centred support and care to young people residing in Kirinari OOHC homes, ensuring individual needs are met.
  • Offer crisis intervention and ongoing support; maintain a safe and welcoming home environment.
  • Help young people develop independent living skills and work with them to achieve personal goals.
  • Support engagement with local communities, including school and community groups; assist with daily care and household tasks.
  • Transport young people to and from appointments; support connection to family and culture.
  • Collaborate with other professionals (e.g., Behaviour Support Practitioners) to deliver multi-disciplinary care.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Commitment to the safety of children, young people, and people with a disability.
  • Understanding of strength-based trauma-informed practice (or willingness to learn).
  • Qualifications in Community Services, Residential Care, Welfare or related areas (Cert IV) (highly regarded).
  • Experience in residential therapeutic care and complex trauma (highly regarded).
  • Flexible roster availability, including weekends, evenings and sleepovers.
  • Ability to obtain the NDIS Workers Screening Check prior to commencement.
  • Ability to obtain a paid NSW Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
  • Willingness to be registered on the NSW Residential Care Workers Register.
  • Complete a National Criminal History Check (paid by Kirinari).
  • Physical ability to engage with young people in activities; computer literacy for software/programs.
  • Hold a current Australian Driver's Licence.
