Vacation Student – Mining at Evolution Mining offers hands-on experience in contract management, procurement, and supplier engagement within a leading gold producer known for innovation and operational diversity.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with preparing and issuing RFQs and tenders.
  • Reviewing supplier quotes and comparing pricing.
  • Supporting contract administration and compliance tracking.
  • Maintaining procurement records and supplier databases.
  • Participating in supplier meetings and negotiations.
  • Monitoring delivery schedules and resolving issues.
  • Collaborating with site teams to forecast procurement needs.
  • Working under supervision of contracts or procurement specialists, aligning tasks with business acumen and learning goals.
About You

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Current enrollment in a Mining Engineering, Science (Mining), Engineering Science (Mining Engineering), Civil degree, or similar.
  • Experience with relevant software and systems through studies or placements (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills across verbal, written, numerical, and graphical formats.
  • Ability to uphold high work standards and build strong relationships with peers and leaders.
  • Capacity to work independently to meet personal and team goals.
  • Valid manual driver's licence.
  • Willingness to live and work remotely.
Compensation & Benefits
  • 12-week residential program at Northparkes, December to February.
  • Roster: 5 days on/2 days off and 4 days on/3 days off, 8.5-hour days.
  • Subsidized housing in a mixed house with a private room.
  • Flights provided at the beginning and end of the program, and for the Christmas break.
  • Fuel reimbursement if traveling by personal car.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
  • Fast-tracked entry into the graduate program for successful participants.
Training & Development
  • Hands-on experience through on-the-job learning.
  • Ownership of real projects with meaningful impact.
  • Mentorship from experienced technical leaders.
  • Participation in operational and personal development training.
Career Progression

Candidates who successfully complete the vacation program will be fast-tracked into the Evolution Mining graduate program, providing a clear pathway for career advancement within the company.
