Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ClearCompany Full time
About us: We are a leading risk advisory firm committed to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional client experiences.
With a strong presence in the market and a dedicated team, we continue to grow and evolve in a fast-paced industry.
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our leadership team and help drive operational excellence across the organisation.
Role Overview: This role requires a hands-on leader who can structure and optimise processes while scaling the organisation towards a larger corporate model.
As the COO, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising day-to-day operations.
You will work closely with the Managing Director, senior leadership team, and other departments to streamline processes, implement scalable strategies, and ensure the operational efficiency of the business.
This is a pivotal role that will directly influence the company's growth trajectory and its ability to maintain high standards of performance and client service.
Unlike traditional COOs, this role starts without a large direct team, instead overseeing and shaping operations strategically.
The COO will build out the function over time as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the day-to-day operations of the firm, ensuring efficient and effective processes across all departments.
Develop and execute operational strategies to support business objectives and growth plans.
Collaborate with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to set and implement long-term organisational goals and operational plans.
Oversee the implementation of technology and operational systems to improve productivity, scalability, and client satisfaction.
Manage cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and seamless coordination between departments (e.g., risk management, compliance, client services, and finance).
Continuously assess operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and introduce process improvements or new initiatives.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices, mitigating risk and safeguarding the firm's reputation.
Foster a high-performance culture, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to senior operational managers.
About you: Proven experience as a COO, Operations Director, or similar leadership role within the financial services sector.
Strong understanding of financial markets, regulatory environments, and industry standards.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiency and optimise complex business processes.
Strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems, navigate challenges, and achieve business goals.
Excellent project management and organisational skills.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred).
Proven track record of successful team management and cross-department collaboration.
How to Apply: If you are a results-driven leader with a passion for operational excellence and financial services, we would love to hear from you.
To learn more about the role contact Melissa Dickson, Head of HR on 0407 211 584 or to submit your application please email your resume and cover letter to mdickson@ocg.com.au.
