Travel and accommodation will be provided.This brand-new adaptation of the beloved story is written by The Lyceum's former Artistic Director, David Greig, with music and lyrics by Abner and Amanda Ramirez (of acclaimed US band Johnnyswim), with additional material by Freya Catrin Smith, and directed by Tony and Olivier award nominee Max Webster.
One Day opens in Edinburgh as part of The Royal Lyceum's 60th anniversary season, which is the first programmed by incoming Artistic Director, James Brining.Schedule:Rehearsals (London) from w/c Monday 5 January 2026Rehearsals (Edinburgh) from w/c Monday 9 February 2026Technical rehearsals from w/c Monday 16 February 2026First performance Edinburgh Lyceum – Friday 27 February 2026Final performance Edinburgh Lyceum – Sunday 19 April 2026Purpose of JobTo provide to the Producer all services customarily rendered by an Associate Director of a production of this scale, including but not limited to supporting the Director during rehearsals, leading rehearsals as directed, teaching and maintaining covers and maintaining the Production once open through show watches, note sessions and understudy rehearsals until end of run.Duties and Responsibilities include:- The Associate Director will rehearse and maintain the direction of the Production in collaboration with the Director by attending all rehearsals in London and Edinburgh.- To rehearse covers in line with the production schedule and attend all cover dress rehearsal runs as required by the Producer.
Schedule and lead ongoing rehearsals as required.- Work closely with the Associate Choreographer on rehearsals and show running.- Contribute to scheduling conversations with the Production Management, Stage Management and General Management team.- First point of contact with the Company Manager when company members are absent from the production and leading on plans for cover/cut performances.For the full job spec and to apply, please submit your CV & Cover letter to The deadline is Monday 18 August 2025 at 17:00.
