Grow your career in clinical trials with a great teamThe Role The Clinical Trials Associate (CTA) is a specialist role supporting the fast-paced Clinical Trials team with biological sample processing, trial equipment maintenance, and operational support with trial documentation.
The broad and varied CTA role reports to the Clinical Trials Laboratory Manager.
Key responsibilities include: Processing, storing, and shipping biological samples collected from clinical trial patients, and overseeing sample processing by other staff Developing strong relationships with sponsors, couriers, and central labs to facilitate safe shipment and sample viability Maintaining lab consumable stock levels Liaising with pathology centres to arrange shipment of archived tissue samples Collecting and maintaining paperwork documenting clinical trials according to regulations Ensuring maintenance of clinical trial equipment Maintaining GCP-compliant clinical trial documentation Providing administrative support as required About You You will be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, extraordinary attention to detail, and well-developed laboratory skills.
Your ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, identify problems, and process solutions will ensure your success in this role.
You should be passionate about working in clinical trials.
About Us The Macquarie University Clinical Trials Unit is part of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences (FMHHS).
FMHHS also includes the Macquarie Medical School, the Macquarie University Private Hospital, and operates patient clinics, labs, imaging, and a pharmacy on campus to support clinical trials and provide patients with access to advanced treatments.
The CTU conducts sponsored and investigator-initiated Phase I to IV trials across multiple therapeutic areas with numerous Principal Investigators.
Our current team of over 60 staff manages more than 150 trials.
