Job Purpose Provide support to the UGLRL business as a subject matter expert (SME) in railway track and civil engineering matters, including providing technical advice, providing technical content for scopes, investigations and assurance activities for operations and maintenance of Country Regional Network (CRN), review of designs and management of key track-related systems such as Welded Track Stability Analysis (WTSA).Key Responsibilities Provide track and civil technical advice to maintenance, projects, design and asset managementfunctions within the business.Participate in the review of designs for track and civil infrastructure from internal and external parties,including routine MPM works, enhancements and third party worksLead technical investigations into root causes of incidents where track or civil infrastructure is suspectedto be at fault, and provide expert input into investigations lead by other parties.Provide input into the short and long term renewals and maintenance plans of UGLRL in areas such asrerailing, rail grinding, track resurfacing, turnout works, level crossing works and ballast cleaning etc.Actively work and provide engineering advice pertaining to their discipline to the assets team to enablethem to develop, update and maintain asset strategies for CRN assets.Assist in developing, maintaining and updating all standards, manuals, specifications, technical notesand waivers within their discipline area to ensure that they remain safe and fit for purpose.Assist the Principal Track and Corridor Engineer in harmonising of the Engineering Standards and Codesmanaged by Tf NSW and the changes required by the business for their discipline.Facilitate the analysis of Welded Track Stability annually by maintaining and supporting a WTSA Analysis system and providing technical support and advice to the Infrastructure team in carrying out this analysis.Assist the Principal Track and Corridor Engineer in reviewing Third Party Works applications and Development Applications.
Qualifications Bachelors Degree or higher in an Engineering or related discipline8+ years of practice in track, permanent way or rail geotechnical roles, ideally including a mixture of project delivery, maintenance, design and asset management.Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards and implications for project accountabilitiesAbout Us UGL is renowned for providing comprehensive engineering, construction, and maintenance services across various sectors, including rail and transport, communications and technology systems, oil and gas, power, renewables, water, and defense.
