The finance team is Canberra based.The OpportunityThis CFO role is offered as a permanent s26 transfer or 12-18 month non-ongoing contract opportunity under a highly regarded SES Band 1 Head of Corporate that we have worked with for many years.Your experience will be highly valued, and you will be asked to drive a number of key finance and corporate projects.
You will inherit a good performing and stable team, evolve finance processes, and help uplift staff capability.
The team enjoys a healthy/balanced culture of working in the office and from home.The RoleThe role covers elements of:Departmental and administered financial reportingAnnual financial statementsPosition papers and policies on financial accounting mattersCBMS / Department of Finance liaisonAssets accountingInternal BudgetsExternal Budgets (important, but not central to the role)Divisional business partneringFinancial governance/controlsTaxation complianceThe Ideal PersonYou are a professionally qualified accountant with a strong technical background who has progressed into management roles where you are a proven leader at EL2 level, ideally with CFO experience (though not required).You will have strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, well-developed analytical skills and are an APS finance expert that also has commercial acumen given there are revenue generating areas of the entity.Given the team currently have a number of projects in train, you are up for a challenge, and motivated to work beyond the BAU.Salary / Rate$150k - $180k + Super (IFA considered)Only Australian Citizens will be considered for this role and a NV1 clearance will be required once in the roleCanberra locationHow to ApplyTo apply online, please click on the appropriate link.Alternatively, for a confidential discussion, please contact Alan Larby on quoting ref no.
