We are the trusted partner for global brands moving millions of parcels annually from the US, UK, Europe, and Asia into Australia, New Zealand & Singapore with an obsession on customer experience.
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is a pivotal executive leadership role responsible for the management and coordination of DAI/Parcel Right operations across Customs Clearance, Final Mile Delivery, First Mile Pick Up and Middle Mile of our supply chain in Australia and New Zealand.
This role requires direct and high-level strategic operational leadership to maximize business success while providing a high level of customer satisfaction and engagement.
The COO will ensure that organisational goals are met through the delivery of seamless, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the COO will work in close collaboration with the executive team to develop and implement robust strategies that drive growth, enhance customer experience, and ensure operational excellence.
We have a team locally, and at various overseas sites – and the global team continues to grow.
The key responsibilities of this role include: Operational Leadership: Lead and coordinate all operational functions to achieve strategic, financial, and service goals.
Drive continuous improvement across the end-to-end parcel delivery lifecycle.
Ensure efficient logistics and supply chain performance that enhances customer satisfaction and delivery reliability.
Oversee relationships with key third-party vendors, partners, and contractors.
Ensure all service level agreements are met, and drive innovation and value creation through strategic vendor collaboration.
Financial Oversight and Management: Lead operational budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Monitor and improve key financial and operational metrics (e.g., cost-to-serve by activity).
Set and track OKRs and provide clear, data-backed reporting to the executive team.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Champion workplace health & safety across all operations in collaboration with the Head of Quality Assurance and Compliance.
Ensure adherence to all relevant WH&S, customs, and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership and Development Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing operations teams across multiple sites.
Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Empower team members through structured development, clear KPIs, and regular feedback.
Technology and Innovation Partner with DAI's technology department to evaluate and implement innovative technologies and systems to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.
Drive innovation in processes and services to maintain a competitive edge in the logistics industry.
Here's what your skillset will need to include: Proven executive leadership experience in a complex, fast-paced operational environment.
Strong understanding of financials (P&L, forecasting, activity-based costing).
Track record of leading successful change initiatives and project sponsorship.
Exceptional communication, judgement, and leadership skills.
Comfortable in high-growth, fast-paced environments—able to balance strategic and tactical priorities.
Technologically confident, with a natural curiosity for emerging tools and systems.
