Base pay range A$280,000.00/yr - A$350,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from APAC FMAbout the Role: A global organisation is seeking a General Manager, Operations | Data Centres to drive operational excellence and strategic growth within its expanding Data Centre portfolio.
This is a mission-critical role responsible for ensuring high performance, security, and sustainability while supporting the company's ambitious growth plans in the Data Centre sector which include 'Owner/Operate model'.
With increasing demand for high-availability, resilient, and energy-efficient Data Centre infrastructure, this role is vital in scaling operations, enhancing service delivery, and maintaining industry-leading uptime standards.

Work with one of the best senior leadership management teams within the industry who have over 70 years tenure within the clients business between only 4 people - Execute expertsKey Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Growth Develop and execute a long-term strategy for Data Centre operations, aligning with business expansion goals.
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including Data Centre managers, engineers, and operational support staff across multiple locations.
Drive capacity planning, expansion projects, and infrastructure upgrades to meet evolving market demands.
Operational Excellence & Critical Systems Management Oversee the end-to-end operations of multiple hyperscale Data Centres.
Implement best practices for power, cooling, networking, and security to maintain world-class reliability.
Standardise Data Centre operational processes across all locations to drive efficiency and consistency.
Develop and manage multi-million-dollar budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximised ROI.
Lead vendor and contract management, ensuring optimal service levels and strategic partnerships.
Ensure full compliance with industry regulations and standards, including ISO 27001, Uptime Institute certifications, and local regulatory requirements.
Sustainability & Innovation Lead sustainability initiatives, promoting green Data Centre practices and driving carbon footprint reduction.
Advocate for the adoption of next-generation cooling and power solutions, enhancing efficiency and reducing operational costs.
Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI, automation, and edge computing to ensure competitive advantage.
Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of experience in large-scale Data Centre operations, with proven leadership in managing mission-critical environments.
Expertise in high-density computing environments, hybrid cloud solutions, and colocation services.
Deep understanding of critical infrastructure systems, including UPS, generators, and HVAC.
