Foghorn Brewery is Newcastle's renowned brewery and restaurant, located in the heart of the city. We are a well-established, multi-award-winning craft brewery seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team.
Key Qualifications and Experience:- Chef's trade qualifications with proven experience in a similar role.
- A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude.
- The ability to excel under pressure in a high-volume environment with great problem-solving skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Must reside and hold a valid working visa in Australia.
- Experience in functions and events.
- Grow and expand our successful menu offering, focusing on future development, weekly specials, and innovative beer and food pairings.
- Oversee the financial performance of the kitchen, ensuring compliance, profitability, costings, and budgets are achieved.
- Develop menus for regular showcase beer dinners and events, emphasizing collaboration between the kitchen and brewery.
- Drive and mentor the team of existing chefs and cooks.
- Supervise kitchen staff to effectively manage costs, maintain recipe standards, and cooking/preparation procedures, ensuring consistency.
- Work closely with the owner and senior management.
- Work-Life Balance – work 5 days a week with 2 consecutive days off.
- An existing, experienced kitchen team already in place, with room for new hires.
- Working for a well-established 10-year-old business.
