(pro rata) MDP2 | Full-time, term up to 3 years from February 2026 Join our Cardiothoracic Services Team The Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit (CTSU) provides surgical management of a variety of different cardiovascular and thoracic conditions including, ischaemic heart disease, valvular disease, aortic disease, adult congenital heart conditions, and more About the role: As the Registrar, you will be accountable to the Director of the Surgery & Perioperative Medicine Division, through the Department Head.
This role is responsible for the provision of high quality care to patients in the wards, and other areas such as theatres, investigational and procedural areas, emergency department and outpatients.
The position of Service Registrar involves teaching junior medical officers and medical students.
You will be responsible to be involved in research and audit work as required, attend weekly unit and combined cardiology cardiac surgery meetings and have involvement in weekly tutorials as part of the cardiothoracic training program.
About you: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent Must hold current registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner Must have at least 6 months' prior experience in Cardiothoracic surgery at PGY3 level or above.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including colleagues and other professional staff A commitment to providing a quality service to patients and their families Please see the attached Role Description for additional information.
