Role We are seeking a passionate and energetic Physical Education teacher to join our dedicated teaching team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing a high-quality physical education program for students in Foundation to Year 6, aligned with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0.
In addition to classroom responsibilities, this role involves coordinating school-wide and community events that foster student wellbeing, physical activity, and school connectedness.
This includes organising whole-school family events such as the annual school social, and liaising with local schools to support and coordinate interschool sport, athletics, cross country, and other sporting opportunities.
The Physical Education program plays a vital role in promoting healthy lifestyles, teamwork, resilience, and a sense of belonging in our students.
Key Responsibilities
¿ Plan and deliver engaging physical education lessons that cater to a diverse range of student abilities and needs.
¿ Assess and report on student learning using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies.
¿ Promote and coordinate student participation in physical activity and sporting events, including interschool sport, athletics, and cross country.
¿ Build and maintain professional networks with local schools to support the coordination of interschool sports events and collaborative sporting initiatives.
¿ Organise and manage whole-school family and community events, including the annual school social.
¿ Collaborate with colleagues to support a whole-school approach to student engagement and wellbeing through physical activity and inclusive events.
¿ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 Health and Physical Education
¿ Ensure a safe and supportive environment during all physical activities and events.
¿ Communicate effectively with students, staff, families, and community partners.
¿ Contribute to the broader life of the school including assemblies, events, and staff meetings.
Responsibilities The role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:

Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students; Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school; Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal; Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions; Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.

Who May Apply Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

VIT LANTITETo be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class a person must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements.
This condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian Initial Teacher Education program completed by the person.
