The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, designing and maintaining Oracle Xstore POS system's manual and automated test cases and testing strategies and implementing them in industry standard testing frameworks.
Provides testing and automated testing expertise and oversight with specialization in retail POS testing, payment flows and Oracle Xstore functional workflows.
Plays a role in providing advice and guidance as needed and monitoring emerging technologies.
Analyze business requirements, functional specs, and technical designs for Oracle Xstore POS enhancements, upgrades, and integrations Create detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases covering functional, regression, integration, UAT support, and performance testing.
Validate POS hardware interactions (printers, barcode scanners, payment devices, cash drawers, customer displays).
Conduct integration testing with external systems (OMS, CRM, ERP, payment gateways, tax engines, etc.,).
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide defect triage assistance Agile Planning : Understands and advises partners with the challenges that delivery and operations teams face in their day-to-day work and partner with them to design viable solutions Perform functional testing for transactions such as sales, returns, promotions, discounts, tax calculations, loyalty, and tendering.
Automation Development : Owns the testing automation strategy, test data management strategy, and test automation framework architecture Develops new, or maintains existing, test automation testcases for Oracle Xstore POS applications, including front-end POS, back-office, and integrated systems that automation currently supports Coordinates regression test automation activities across supported applications Presents test results to stakeholders Identify, document, and prioritize defects using tools such as Jira, HP ALM, Zephyr, or Test Rail.
Education Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education Experience5+ years of QA experience, including 2+ years in Oracle Xstore POS or other enterprise retail POS solutions.
Required Strong understanding of POS hardware peripherals, store operations and POS workflows : sales, returns, exchanges, tax, promotions, loyalty, and tendering.
