plus 17% super(pro rata for part-time)About the Role The School of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Melbourne is seeking a passionate academic to contribute to teaching and research in Cyber Security.
Based in Melbourne Connect, this role involves leading innovative research, publishing in top-tier venues, securing independent funding, and collaborating with industry and interdisciplinary teams across the University.
The successful candidate will join a world-class Cyber Security research group, teach at undergraduate and graduate levels, and engage with industry and government partners to drive impactful advancements in the field.
Your Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include: Teach subjects to a standard that delivers a high-quality learning experience for students in the Bachelors and Masters, as directed by the Head of School or Deputy Head; Conduct lectures and tutorials at undergraduate and postgraduate level including engagement in teaching innovation and improvement; Develop and innovate high quality subject materials and subject delivery, including the use of web resources as appropriate; Preparation of project work to support student learning; Conduct high quality scholarly research in the discipline of Cyber Security; Build and foster partnerships with industry, government and other collaborators.
Who We Are Looking For The successful candidate will be a collaborative and adaptable researcher with a strong track record in Cyber Security, demonstrating excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with academic, industry, and international stakeholders.
They will possess a proactive and interdisciplinary mindset, excelling in teamwork, independent research, and knowledge-sharing through teaching, seminars, and collaborative projects.
Minimum Requirements You will also have: A Ph D in computer science, software engineering or information systems (or relevant discipline); A track record of quality research in Cyber Security as evidenced by research publications in leading peer-reviewed conferences or journals commensurate with opportunity; Demonstrated ability to perform independent research and a commitment to interdisciplinary research; Additional Information This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
