Thornton Legal, a boutique commercial law firm based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, is seeking a Solicitor with 2–3 years' Post Admission Experience (PAE) to join our growing practice.
You will work alongside experienced senior solicitors on a broad range of matters, as well as manage your own files, across commercial law, property law, wills and estates and commercial disputes.
This full-time role offers the opportunity to develop your skills in a friendly, supportive environment while delivering high-quality legal services to our diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities Assist senior solicitors with complex commercial files and provide support on a range of transactional, contested and advisory matters.
Manage your own files, primarily in commercial law, property law and wills and estates.
Experience in contested matters and commercial litigation preferred.
Conduct legal research, draft documents and attend client meetings as required.
Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Selection Criteria Qualifications & Experience Admission as a Solicitor in Queensland with 2–3 years' PAE in commercial practice Practical experience in commercial law (e.g., business transactions, structuring, contracts).
Familiarity with wills and estates matters Experience or keen interest in commercial disputes and litigation.
Technical & Professional Skills Sound legal research and drafting abilities Keen problem solver able to take initiative Effective time management and case management skills Demonstrated commercial acumen, with the ability to understand and address clients' business needs Personal Attributes Intelligent, eager to learn, and receptive to feedback Team player who works collaboratively and supports colleagues Comfortable with conflict situations and willing to develop advocacy skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage confidently and compassionately with clients.
