About the Role This is a rare opportunity to lead asset management excellence during one of the most significant periods in Brisbane's development.
As Principal Asset Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert driving innovative, best-practice asset management approaches across South Bank Corporation's diverse portfolio, ensuring our infrastructure is Olympic-ready and future-focused.
In the lead-up to 2032, this role will be instrumental in developing comprehensive asset management strategies, long-term capital works programs, and ensuring our infrastructure can meet the demands of hosting a global audience.
You'll leverage ISO 55001 standards to implement cutting-edge asset management practices while balancing the immediate needs of our vibrant precinct with long-term Olympic legacy planning.
Key Responsibilities Include Developing and implementing Asset Management Plans and rolling 10-year capital works programs critical for Olympic readiness; Leading large-scale asset replacement, renewal and expansion projects with Olympic infrastructure requirements in mind; Conducting condition assessments and technical investigations across diverse asset classes; Preparing detailed business cases and reports for executive leadership and key stakeholders; Managing financial modelling to optimise capital investments and budget planning; Overseeing maintenance programs and capital investment projects aligned with key timelines; Collaborating with multiple stakeholders including government bodies, Olympic committees, and community groups; and This role offers the unique opportunity to shape Brisbane's infrastructure legacy while working within a dynamic, high-performing culture that values innovation and excellence.
About You We're seeking an exceptional professional with a proven track record in asset management who thrives in stakeholder-rich environments and can contribute to Brisbane's Olympic legacy.
You'll bring : Comprehensive experience in capital works planning, business case development, and condition assessments; Background in building services, facilities management, or landscape architecture with infrastructure asset management experience; Proven ability to write technical reports, conduct investigations, and manage various asset classes; Strong knowledge of ISO 55001 standards and asset management best practices; Experience in financial modelling, budget preparation, and lifecycle cost analysis; and Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale infrastructure projects and capital works programs.

Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Asset Management, Facilities Management, Landscape Architecture or related field; Substantial whole-of-life asset management experience.
