Job Description - Site Engineer - Civil (264652)The UGL / Tas Water alliance is currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to ensure that construction activities on site are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project's design, quality, and regulatory requirements.
This is a full-time, fixed-term contract role.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily site operations related to civil and mechanical construction activities, ensuring alignment with Tas Water's quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and Tas Water representatives to ensure effective communication and timely progress of works.
Track project milestones, review construction drawings, and ensure all works are carried out in accordance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records including site diaries, quality assurance documents, and daily progress reports; assist with preparation of ITPs, RFIs, and NCRs as needed.
Promote and enforce compliance with all health, safety, and environmental protocols on site, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.
About You: Tertiary qualification in engineering (civil or mechanical preferred), with eligibility for Engineers Australia membership being advantageous.
Experience in water infrastructure projects, including involvement in water or wastewater treatment plant construction or major utility infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of methodologies, including interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and applying relevant codes and standards.
Proficiency in site documentation and systems, familiarity with construction management tools (e.g., Aconex, Procure), and experience preparing ITPs, SWMS, RFIs, and progress reports.
Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractor performance in a dynamic site environment.
