Senior Project Engineer – Civil Infrastructure | Newcastle, NSWRSG Recruitment is proud to partner with a well-established and rapidly growing civil contractor to recruit a Senior Project Engineer for a major infrastructure opportunity based in Newcastle, NSW .This is an ideal role for an experienced and driven engineer ready to take the lead on complex, high-profile projects across transport, defence, and renewables .
With a robust project pipeline, the contractor offers long-term career growth, self-performing capabilities, and strong support structures in place.Whether you're local to the Hunter Valley , considering relocation , or open to regional DIDO travel , this opportunity offers flexibility, leadership responsibility, and the chance to make a meaningful impact.What You'll Be Doing Leading the delivery of major work packages from planning through to completion.
Overseeing subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure time, cost, and quality objectives are met.
Driving project programming, cost tracking, and reporting alongside Project Managers.
Ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Reviewing design, managing ITPs, and maintaining project documentation to the highest standard.
Liaising with key stakeholders including clients, consultants, and internal leadership.
Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a collaborative project environment.
What We're Looking For Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related field.
6–10+ years' experience in civil construction, ideally on major infrastructure projects.
Proven track record in coordinating across disciplines (roads, structures, utilities, etc.).
Strong leadership skills and commercial acumen.
Deep understanding of construction methodologies and QA/QC processes.
Experience with Tf NSW and government infrastructure specifications.
Valid driver's license and flexibility for regional travel if required.
