Base location of this role is Central Office, Brisbane.The Director reports to the Executive Director, Schools & Student Support.Your Role As the Director, you will lead a coordinated approach to delivering the leading identified Schools & Student Support Division initiatives to reduce, prevent, and respond to bullying.Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To Leading the development, implementation, and monitoring of state-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and priorities to support student engagement and inclusion.
Overseeing initiatives aimed at addressing bullying.
Shaping and influencing policies and procedures that address key issues.
Providing high-level advice to senior departmental officers, government agencies, and stakeholders on matters relating to addressing bullying.
Ensuring optimal use of human and financial resources, including the management of State and Commonwealth funds, to meet agreed objectives and achieve measurable outcomes.
Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Managing, mentoring, and inspiring a multidisciplinary team to deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Preparing and reviewing briefing materials, correspondence, and reports for the Minister, senior departmental officers, and other key entities, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and relevance.
Modelling and promoting the use of digital tools and practices to improve productivity, enhance communication, and support implementation.
Continuously monitoring, evaluating, and refining the activities, strategies, and policies to ensure they remain effective and aligned with the project goals and priorities.
Advocating for and leading initiatives that address barriers to learning.
About You As the Director, Schools and Student Support, you will bring:Proven ability to lead, inspire, and implement state-wide initiatives.
Strong understanding of educational policies and frameworks, with the ability to design and deliver innovative strategies to support diverse student groups.
Capacity to navigate a dynamic environment, responding quickly to changing demands and priorities.
Ability to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders, and communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
Experience working with diverse teams, government bodies, and communities to achieve shared goals.
A commitment to equity in education, ensuring every student has access to supportive, engaging learning environments.
A proactive approach to overcoming challenges and delivering practical, sustainable solutions.
