About the Role: This is a full-time Senior Process Engineer – (Gas Process role) located on-site in Brisbane, QLD at Mining3.
The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for process design, process control, analytical skills, process engineering, and chemical engineering in the related projects.
We are seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer with a few years of experience in gas processing, specialising in catalytic conversions and reaction kinetics in gas-solid reactors, heat management methods and gas separation techniques, such as adsorption, absorption and membranes.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team working on innovative projects in a fast-paced environment.
We consider flexible working arrangements, including the ability to work remotely during the initial phase.
Please note that up to 40% travel is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities: Apply a strong understanding of catalytic gas conversion, heat management methods, and separation techniques, developing flowsheets, simulations, and process optimisation.
Perform process simulations in Aspen Adsorption, Aspen Plus and Aspen Dynamics.
Assist in framing and development of computational fluid dynamics.
Develop process designs, including PFDs and P&IDs.
Review engineering design documents and write technical reports.
Solve complex problems by applying a strong understanding of reaction kinetics.
Conduct techno-economic assessments to evaluate the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of process designs.
Develop engineering codes in MATLAB or Python.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Engage with external stakeholders in a technical capacity.
Qualifications and Skills: Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
High proficiency in Aspen Plus, Aspen Adsorption, and Aspen Dynamics.
Familiar with ANSYS and COMSOL Multiphysics.
Programming skills in MATLAB or Python.
Experience in conducting techno-economic assessments for process designs.
Experience in developing PFDs and P&IDs.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and take on new challenges with a proactive approach.
Familiarity with mining process simulation, in addition to Aspen Plus software such as Sys CAD, is an advantage.
