Job Description About the role: As Global Finance Controller, you will be responsible for: Overseeing the company's global financial operations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory requirements.
Managing and developing a high-performing finance team across multiple geographies.
Optimizing financial processes, systems, and controls to drive efficiency, scalability, and automation.
Leading global billing, revenue operations, and treasury management, ensuring seamless cash flow and financial stability.
Owning the company's M&A integration strategy, including due diligence and post-acquisition financial management.
Serving as a trusted strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership, providing insights to drive growth and profitability.
What your day to day will look like: Build, manage, and mentor a world-class finance team, ensuring strong execution and professional development.
Drive a high-performance culture, providing clear goals, accountability, and coaching for career growth.
Partner with the CFO to develop and execute the company's financial vision and operational strategy.
Act as a key business partner to cross-functional teams, including Commercial Finance, P&C, Rev Ops, Sales, Product, and Marketing.
Own and drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring completion within 5 business days.
Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting under US GAAP and IFRS across multiple entities.
Implement robust internal controls, ensuring SOX compliance (where applicable) and audit readiness.
Lead the financial risk management strategy, ensuring compliance with tax, regulatory, and legal obligations.
Prepare board reports and executive-level financial insights.
Billing, Revenue Recognition & Operations: Oversee global billing operations, ensuring seamless invoicing, collections, and revenue reconciliation.
Act as the finance lead for pricing and packaging changes in Recurly, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
Implement best practices in subscription revenue recognition (ASC 606 / IFRS 15) for Saa S and payments models.
Drive automation and efficiency in revenue operations, improving scalability.
Strategic Finance & Business Performance: Lead cash burn and liquidity management, ensuring sustainable growth and financial resilience.
Drive budget vs.
actuals variance analysis, ensuring disciplined financial management.
Work closely with FP&A and Commercial Finance to optimize EBITDA and improve profitability.
Act as a key driver of finance transformation, leveraging technology and automation to scale operations.
Banking, Treasury & Capital Strategy: Own and manage global banking relationships, ensuring optimized cash flow and funding strategy.
Oversee treasury functions, including foreign exchange (FX) risk management and cash positioning.
Partner with CFO on capital allocation, fundraising, and investor relations.
M&A, Equity & Growth Strategy: Participate in M&A financial due diligence, ensuring seamless integration of acquired companies.
Manage purchase accounting (ASC 805), goodwill, and intangible asset valuation for M&A transactions.
Oversee cap table management and equity administration, ensuring compliance and transparency.
Finance Transformation & Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to drive operational excellence in finance.
Implement finance automation tools, and ERP (Xero) optimizations.
Establish scalable financial processes to support global expansion and high-growth operations.
Qualifications The Successful Candidate Has: 15+ years of progressive finance leadership, including 7+ years in a Senior Director or Controller level.
Experience in high-growth, fast-paced Saa S, Fin Tech, or Payments industries.
Proven ability to build, develop, and scale high-performing global finance teams.
Deep expertise in US GAAP, IFRS, and ASC 606 revenue recognition for Saa S businesses.
Strong hands-on experience in billing operations, revenue accounting, and payment processing (Recurly preferred).
Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency consolidations across global markets.
Track record of driving finance transformation, automation, and process improvements.
Expertise in M&A transactions, purchase accounting (ASC 805), and post-merger integration.
Experience in treasury operations, banking relationships, and capital strategy.
Strategic mindset with the ability to partner with C-level executives and influence business decisions.
Hands-on experience with Xero, financial automation tools, and AI-driven finance systems.
Background in IPO readiness, fundraising, or working with PE-backed companies.
Exposure to embedded finance, payment flows, and regulatory compliance in Fin Tech.
Experience leading remote and globally distributed teams.
