The Enterprise Cloud Services technology area sits within our Cloud, Data and Analytics Domain which is responsible for building and operating our cloud platform environments which are used across ANZ.
You relentlessly automate all aspects of system operations and apply best practices in site reliability engineering.
You are laser focused on reducing toil, monitoring strategies, and incident management.
You likely have experience with more than one cloud platform and bring expertise in networking, software, and reliability engineering to our cloud estate - always starting with the code.
You are a champion of system reliability and resilience, and tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and containerisation is integral to your daily operations.
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will work on missions that excite you, including developing platforms and services which will help our customers get on top of their money while using the latest tech stacks.
Role Type: PermanentRole Location: BrisbaneWork Hours: Full-Time What will your day look like? Team up with other engineers to swiftly dive into complex incidents, conduct thorough investigations, and pinpoint root causes, demonstrating a strong capacity for quick learning and adaptive problem-solving.
Lead and deliver observability journeys for business imperatives and platforms across ANZ.
Build infrastructure using code and follow software engineering best practices.
Utilise knowledge of distributed system design including cloud scalability, communication integration, database, and storage.
Challenge the status quo, whilst always looking for opportunities for continuous improvement.
What will you bring? Solid hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tooling such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus etc.
Deep experience building and operating cloud services using infra as code tooling such as Terraform.
Comfortable coding in one or more languages (Golang, Python, bash, Powershell, etc.), using these skills to automate processes across different cloud platforms.
Sound knowledge of secure coding practices, and configuration/secrets management across various cloud providers.
Experience in writing unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
Comprehensive knowledge of CI/CD practices, with an emphasis on zero-downtime deployment strategies.
Proficient in automated continuous integration testing, including the use of SAST tools for security testing.
Skilled in automated CI/CD pipeline tools, such as Git Hub Actions or Codefresh, to ensure consistent and reliable deployments.
Experienced in creating runners, Docker images, and utilizing container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Adept at working on large source code repositories within a team environment, possessing strong expertise in Git and Git workflows.
Proficient in cloud operations, including DNS management, backups, cost optimization, capacity management, monitoring/alerting, and patch management.
You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
