About the project John Holland is Goldlin Q's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.
Key responsibilities Coordinate the on-site engineering function, to achieve time and budget objectives and provide efficient support for construction activities.
Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates, including site engineers, project engineers and cost/planning resources.
Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications.
Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget.
Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings.
Produce accurate forecasts of costs and revenue.
Participate in planning future requirements including machine tools, ancillary equipment, major plant and labour.
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of structures and construction work.
To be successful in this key role, you must have A bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
5 years of infrastructure experience, ideally with major project experience in railway and/or highways.
7-10+ years' postgraduate experience, ideally in a tier one contractor setting.
Leadership ability to provide mentorship to direct reports.
Demonstrated commercial experience to include planning and reporting on progress, cost and risk.
Demonstrated personal commitment to health and safety.
