About the Role:
Curtin University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Director to lead the Curtin Health Service. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical leader to make a real impact on the health and wellbeing of our diverse community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the clinical functions of Curtin Health Service, including clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety.
- Provide primary health care services to students, staff, and their families.
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager to ensure that services meet the highest professional and regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain operational guidelines and best practices for the health service.
- Promote equity and access to health services for all members of the Curtin community.
- Contribute to the education and professional development of clinical staff through mentorship and training.
- Build strong partnerships with community care providers to enhance the delivery of services.
- Lead initiatives that foster continuous improvement in clinical services, patient care, and safety.
About You:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Medical Director who is committed to delivering outstanding patient care and fostering a culture of excellence. You will be a proven leader with excellent communication skills and a strong background in clinical governance, quality improvement, and primary care. Experience working with young adults and diverse cultural backgrounds is highly desirable.
Selection Criteria:
- Evidence of unconditional registration as a medical practitioner in Australia.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
- Proven experience in clinical leadership and management of healthcare teams.
- Strong commitment to clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Experience in young adult health services or working with diverse cultural groups (highly desirable).
Role Requirements:
As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction.
