Position Overview
Are you a compassionate, reliable person who's passionate about mental health and making a real impact in people's lives? Join our team at On The Border Tweed as a Support Worker, where you'll support NDIS participants with psychosocial disabilities to build independence, feel connected, and achieve their NDIS goals.
Every day looks a little different- from meaningful one-on-one time to more hands-on community outings.
If you're ready to bring empathy, energy, and purpose to your work, we'd love to hear from you.
To thrive in this role, you'll need strong communication skills (both written and verbal), the ability to build meaningful relationships with participants and stakeholders, and confidence managing your time, boundaries, and responsibilities.

About us On The Border Tweed is a Tweed Heads–based NDIS provider committed to delivering high-quality, individualised support for people living with psychosocial disabilities.
Our mission is to empower participants to achieve their goals, build independence, and improve overall well-being through compassionate, person-centred care.
We're a close-knit, values-driven team that takes pride in forming genuine, lasting connections with each participant.
Many of whom enjoy activities like beach walks, community groups, community events, social dinners, and cooking groups - and we value support workers who bring warmth and presence into those moments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored, participant-centred support aligned with NDIS goals.

• Assist with daily living tasks including personal care, meal preparation, and household duties.

• Facilitate social connection and community participation.

• Promote mental health strategies and support emotional regulation.

• Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes and incident reports.

• Collaborate with team members, families, and external professionals.

• Follow all NDIS standards, relevant legislation, and organisational policies.

• Current Open Driver's Licence.

• Reliable, roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance.

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).

• Police Check and valid First Aid/CPR certification.

• Working with Children Check (highly regarded).

• Basic tech literacy (e.g., using apps for rostering and reporting).

Availability
We are particularly looking for support workers who are available for:

• Weekday shifts (including during school hours)

• Occasional evenings or weekends (for social and community outings)

• Flexible work options and casual opportunities

• A supportive and inclusive work environment that values growth and well-being
