The Role
You will be responsible for building strong relationships across all levels of the business to ensure compliance and promote an environment where every individual is an active participant in health, safety, and quality initiatives.
The role will provide expert HSEQ support to multiple manufacturing sites across the east coast, and regular travel will be required.
Reporting to the Head of HSEQ your main responsibilities will be:

Ensure regulatory compliance: Make sure the organization is aware of and complies with all legislation
Provide strategic HSEQ guidance: Serve as the primary technical advisor for all HSEQ responsibilities with the national remit.

Lead HSEQ system management: Develop, review, and promote HSEQ system documentation such as policies, procedures, and manuals.
Manage risk programs for all on-site operations.
Manage HSEQ communications: Ensure all internal and external HSEQ alerts, written notices, and bulletins are circulated and briefed to relevant employees within a specified timeframe.
Conduct proactive site inspections: Proactively undertake site visits and inspections to identify and address unsafe acts and conditions.
Engage with those involved to agree on necessary improvement actions.
Oversee audit processes: Review and check the current audit process to prepare for planned ISO accreditations.
Provide HSEQ auditing services to ensure the organization meets its ISO requirements.
Drive incident management and analysis: Monitor incident reports to ensure they are appropriately investigated.
Assist the Head of HSEQ and GMs of Operations during incident investigations as required.
Analyze performance data: Analyze HSEQ data to monitor accident and incident trends and provide periodic reports.
Promote a culture of collaboration: Build and maintain a professional and consultative relationship with HSR representatives and HSEQ Committee members to coordinate HSEQ activities and monitor related matters.
Empower managers and supervisors: Provide guidance and assistance to managers and supervisors, so they can effectively fulfill their HSEQ responsibilities.
Develop and deliver training: Conduct engaging training sessions for management, supervisors, and workers on HSEQ practices and legislation.
Champion continuous improvement: This includes actively contributing to a cohesive and high-performing team by collaborating with other HSEQ officers, coordinators, and the Head of HSEQ.

About You

5 + years of experience in an HSEQ support function role, with a strong background in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, and logistics
Tertiary education, e.g.
Diploma of Work Health Safety
Experience in integrated Management Systems implementation.
Excellent communication (written and verbal)
Meticulous attention to detail
Be willing to undertake regular travel intrastate
Familiarity with information systems and archives e.g.
ECO-Online, Share Point
Background in ISO standards (Quality, Safety and Environment)
A high level of confidence to communicate with all members of the company
Proficient in Microsoft suite applications.
